Merck equips its Microquant® test kits with robust plastic test tubes
Merck’s Microquant® range of visual rapid tests for the food and beverages industries are specialists for difficult testing conditions: They can be safely used e. g. for analyzing turbid or colored samples, for on-the-spot measurements out in the field, and, from now on, also for on-site in-process controls. In 2009, Merck will successively replace the glass test tubes in all Microquant® test kits by robust tubes made of special plastic. The new material eliminates the risk of breaking the test tubes during in-process control and contaminating any products with pieces of broken glass.

With the high-quality Microquant® test kits from Merck, you get immediate and reliable quantitative results in the analysis of water and comestible goods as well as in production, helping you to optimize processes and increase efficiency. Microquant® test kits already contain all the accessories and reagents necessary to perform quantitative measurements of medium to high concentrations.
Very simple handling
The reagent bottles in the Microquant® test kits have been designed in such a way that liquid reagents can be easily metered drop by drop. Solid reagents can be measured using the metering spoons integrated into the screw caps. The innovative ten-stage color comparator disc decisively simplifies color matching for more precise results.
Suitable for difficult testing conditions
The color reaction is evaluated using the transmitted-light method. This makes it possible to analyze even turbid and slightly colored water samples without any further sample preparation. Because the robust color comparator disk is made of extremely durable slides of plastic, Microquant® tests can also be used in wet or dirty environments, e. g. in industrial areas.
Refills for longer useful life
In order to allow customers to use their original test kits for a very long time, Merck provides practical refill packs suitable for use with both the Microquant® and Aquaquant® tests for a given parameter. The bottles from the refill pack fit directly in the packs for the respective original Microquant® or Aquaquant® test kits, and the number of possible determinations is the same as for the corresponding basic test kits. This way, you can use your color comparators over and over again – reducing your costs per determination and at the same time reducing the environmental burden.
